Belford is an unincorporated community located within Middletown Township in Monmouth County, New Jersey. Rural, quiet and yet tucked in a vibrant section of the county, Belford has some charming older homes, classic Colonials with picture-perfect lawns on neat plots of land.
Belford has a small population of only 1,518 and is less family-oriented than some of the surrounding districts. Public school students in the borough attend Bayview Elementary School. However for middle and high school, students must attend schools in a nearby borough. Luckily, there are numerous top-notch schools, both public and private within Monmouth County.
Belford is home to the ferry slip for New York Waterway’s Raritan Bayshore terminal, with service to the Paulus Hook Ferry Terminal in Jersey City, Pier 11 at Walla street, the Battery Park City Ferry Terminal, and West Midtown Ferry Terminal in New York City. The boats travel across the lower New York Bay and take approximately 50 minutes, making it a great transit option for those vacationing or even commuting.
