Have you ever wondered what it would be like to wake up everyday to a sunrise in the mojave desert? Perhaps you’ve fantasized about being nestled atop a volcano, far away from the confinement of civilization. Well, that dream will have to remain dream.

One lucky home buyer was able to score a very unique home situated atop volcanic cinder cone, with 360-degree views of the surrounding California desert.

Previously owned by legendary California public television host Huell Howser, the Mojave Desert Volcano Housejust sold for $750,000 — $100,000 over its asking price.

Built in 1970, this stunning  dome-shaped abode offers Mojave sunrise through the floor-to-ceiling windows, or from one of the several observation decks built around the home. Languishing on the market since 2002, Howser eventually donated the home to Chapman University in 2012, right  before he passed away.

However,  one lucky home buyer now owns a truly remarkable piece of property on some breathtaking land. We will readily admit that this home is probably not something every family is striving to have, considering the desolate location. But you can’t say you aren’t intrigued by the sheer awesomeness of the home’s breathtaking views. Of course you don't have to go far for amazing homes!
